Trifold Boards are being sold at Ac2E Middle School office for $3.00

Friday, October 21, 2016

Students will learn to recognize that radiant energy from the sun is transformed into chemical energy through the process of photosynthesis.

Friday, October 14, 2016

Students will learn that radiant energy from the Sun drives much of the flow of energy throughout living systems due to the process of photosynthesis in organisms described as producers. Most consumers then depend on producers to meet their energy needs. Decomposers play an important role in recycling matter.

Including: Levels of Organization
                    Organic Compounds

Friday, September 16, 2016

Students will identify that organic compounds contain carbon and other elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, nitrogen, and sulfur.

Organic Compounds...contain what?

CHNOPS

CARBON
HYDROGEN
NITROGEN
OXYGEN
PHOSPHORUS
SULFUR

Friday, September 9, 2016

Students will recognize levels of organization in plants and animals, including cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, and organisms.

Students will also learn to identify organic compounds that contain carbon and other elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, nitrogen, or sulfur.  Students will recognize how large molecules are broken down into smaller molecules such as carbohydrates can be broken down into sugar.

Welcome to Academy for Academic Enhancement Middle School and to 7th Grade Honors Science.  I, Mrs. E. Salinas, look forward to working with you to build upon and enrich your scientific skills and knowledge.  We will be taking a hands on approach to the study of life science.  We are here to learn and learning can be fun, however, to be successful in science it will take hard work!
